⚾ Baseball starts here
Roogy the Raptor says Raptor Ball is a fun, simple introduction to baseball for young beginners. Over four weeks, kids learn how to throw, catch, field, hit and run the bases— just like Roogy - then put it all together to play real baseball games tailored to their age and skill level.
For parents
Raptor Ball is built specifically for first-time players. We don't expect children — or parents — to already know baseball. We introduce the game one simple skill at a time and make sure every child gets plenty of turns.
The first four weeks
Every session includes movement, throwing, catching, hitting, base running and a small-sided game. Each week has one main theme so kids can recognise their progress.
Join Roogy, learn the diamond and discover what happens when we hit, throw, catch and run.
Learn a simple throwing action and start sending the ball accurately to a teammate or target.
Learn how to get ready, field a ground ball and use the glove as part of a real baseball play.
Put the swing together, hit with confidence and then use all four weeks of skills in Raptor Ball.
Collect your progress
Every child gets a Raptor Ball progress card. The stickers are about participation and learning — not being the best player. Complete the four-week programme and earn the special Raptor Ready sticker.
Completed the programme, learned the fundamentals and ready for the next baseball adventure.
The Raptors pathway
Once a child is comfortable with the fundamentals, there is a clear pathway to keep learning and playing as they grow.
A low-pressure introduction for first-time baseball players.
Tee-ball with age-appropriate rules, lots of touches and lots of fun.
Coach-assisted pitching and more genuine baseball situations.
Continue developing skills, teamwork and game understanding.
Questions parents usually have
No. Raptor Ball is designed for children who are learning from the beginning.
That's exactly why the programme starts with simple activities, lots of repetition and small successes. We want confidence to grow over the four weeks.
The focus is learning, participation and fun. Children are introduced to how baseball works without making winning the reason they are there.
We'll help families understand the most suitable next step based on age and readiness, including U5/U7 Raptor Ball and then U9 Rookie Ball.
Give baseball a go without needing to know the game first. We'll teach the fundamentals and make the first four weeks fun.
